Health
Animal fat, contained in all meat, is bad for you.
It's associated with cancer, strokes and heart disease and is known
to raise blood cholesterol levels. Red meat consumption is linked
to bowel cancer risk The doc doesn't hesitate to recommend a veggie
diet for health! And yes, that includes a growing child ... (for

Beauty
Fruit and veg. are full of phyto-nutrients that
protect the body against ageing. Meat on the other hand, contains
concentrated environmental pollutants which encourage the body to
look older (incidentally the modest Dr. Greenhow has been a vegetarian
since he was seventeen and looks far younger than his years).
Taste
Veggie food really tastes good! You can taste the
flavour of everything on your plate and don't feel 'heavy' after
every meal. There are lots of good recipes out there. Young Dr.
Greenhow would never want to go back to eating meat ....
Weight
Studies have shown vegetarian children are leaner
and fitter than meat eating children. Adults have smaller bums and
less love handles. The doc doesn't know a vegetarian who needs to
diet!
Energy
Your energy will go up as you are ingesting a better
balance of vitamins and minerals. In addition, a veggie diet works
better to sustain you as it takes longer for the food to release
energy. It can even get you through the nightmare of medical school!
Peace
Fast fatty food promotes is addictive and promotes
addictive behaviour. If there are habits you want to lose - smoking,
drinking, violence - lose meat first!
Karma
the average person eats 4000 animals in their lifetime.
Those animals are cute, and as well as that are sentient and feel
pain. Do you really want to take their life away for you to eat?
What goes around, comes around.
'Green' ing
our world has been altered. Not only is meat full
of drugs, but fish are often heavilly contaminated by dioxins and
PCB's especially farmed fish. It is better to eat organic flax seeds
to gain Omega 3 oils. Well, he is called Dr. Green how!
Love
Factory farming is cruel and stresses animals beyond
what society should accept. The Pope recently said factory farming
is immoral. Cutting costs to produce cheap meat makes for miserable
animals and miserable meat. Do you really want this misery inside
you? Turning into your poop? And is killing really justified because
an animal is 'organic'? Think about it!
Feed the world!
1 kg of meat takes as much resources as 10 kg as
grain. Given that over half the world goes to bed hungry every night,
don't you want to do your bit?
